Gras Call-Out Favors
- One
of the most cherished customs of New Orleans Carnival balls is
the call-out. For more than a century, ladies called out to dance
have been seated in a special section of the ballroom; at the
end of each dance, the ladies are presented with a favor by their
masked partners.
